Common Core – Explained by Dr. Duke Pesta

The video I’m going to show is Dr. Duke Pesta, who works with “Freedom Project Education.” He fully explains how Common Core started; who designed it; how the states have endured the implementation; the goals of the supporters and designers; and, how the program will affect the youth in America for generations to come. The video is long, but I strongly recommend watching all of it as it is full of disturbing facts regarding Common Core and how the reality of its implementation will destroy the parent and school relationship. Here’s a small list of the issues Dr. Pesta made in the video: 

  • No Governor, Congressman, School Board, Teachers Union, or parent was involved in the creation or implementation of Common Core.
  • No elected official had any say with the design of Common Core. It was completely done behind closed doors by the Obama administration and its socialist friends.
  • Overcomplicates and redefines how students are taught, which destroys the parent and school/teacher relationship.   
  • Common Core is copyrighted and cannot be changed by anyone other than the two unelected groups that created it.
  • With only minor exceptions, the General Education Provisions Act, the Department of Education Organization Act, and the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended by the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), ban the Department from directing, supervising, or controlling elementary and secondary school curriculum, programs of instruction, and instructional materials. Yet the two testing consortia funded by the U.S. Department of Education have already expanded their activities well beyond the limits of the law. Secretary Arne Duncan has said that the work of the two consortia includes “developing curriculum frameworks” and “instructional modules.”
  • James Milgram and Sandra Stotsky who were on the Math and English validation committee are completely against Common Core and refused to agree with it. Here’s a PDF of their response to Jason Zimba, the lead writer of Common Core’s Math standards.
  • James Milgram and Sandra Stotsky are on record saying that the education system which is already behind 2 years compared to other countries will go back another 2-3 years with Common Core.
  • Two of the top lawyers of the Department of Education say that Common Core completely violates three federal statues and that the program is unworkable.
  • The US Secretary of Education Arne Duncan was also heavily involved in the development of Common Core. In this link there is an abundant amount of information regarding his views on our education system.
  • Despite claims that Common Core was led by the States, the program was actually solely created by special interest groups. The States had no involvement!
  • The U.S. Department of Education rewrote federal privacy laws to let it share a child’s academic record with virtually anyone. States have begun combining student records of test scores, discipline history, medical records, nicknames, religion, political affiliation, addresses, extracurricular activities, bus stop times and psychological evaluations into a private database called inBloom.
  • New schools will have pharmacies which will provide, via Obamacare, free abortion pills, condoms, birth control, and even…are you sitting down?…provide transportation to abortion clinics for students. Common Core – One World Education System

A social studies teacher Gerald Conti of New York explains the Common Core Standards best –

“Data driven education seeks only conformity, standardization, testing and a zombie-like adherence to the shallow and generic Common Core, along with a lockstep of oversimplified so-called Essential Learnings. Creativity, academic freedom, teacher autonomy, experimentation and innovation are being stifled in a misguided effort to fix what is not broken in our system of public education.”

Mary Black, a veteran educator, who has four decades of teaching students of all ages, warned that Common Core and its poor standards are part of a much broader agenda. This is her conclusion –

 “My review of the Common Core standards indicated that they were designed to teach students what to think and not how to think. The literary classics have been stripped and replaced with books promoting a socialist agenda…. It is certain that it will leave students unable to think for themselves. As an educator, I admit the poor standards are not my major concern. It is what comes along with the standards that is most concerning.” 

Ms. Black cited the fact that special interest groups, such as tax-funded abortion giant Planned Parenthood, which participated in writing the “National Sexuality Education Standards,” will be given access to American children. Pointing to some of the controversial material­ – such as asking students to identify different types of “family structures” and discuss ways of “showing respect” toward them, for instance – she urged parents with children in school to read the standards for themselves. Ms. Black also noted that because Common Core is copyrighted, it cannot be altered by anyone other than the owners of the copyright. As such, any special interest group that finds favor with those in charge will be able to gain instant access to America’s students. Concerned parents, meanwhile, will be left with few-to-no options to prevent it.

Many educational experts have noted that the Common Core Standards are modeled after what the United Nations have wanted and that’s a one world education system. Bill Gates is one of the largest contributors to Common Core and his support for this type of nationalized one size fits all education system is no secret. Please research the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the architectures of Common Core David Coleman, Sir Michael Barber, and Arne Duncan. After your research, you’ll see for yourself what they stand for and what their goals are.

In Agenda 21 chapter 36 there’s a document titled “Promoting education, public awareness and training“. This chapter goes on to explain how promoting education, public awareness and training, with focus on environmental education, is a critical theme both relevant to the implementation of the whole of Agenda 21 and indispensable for achieving sustainable development. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has a program called “Education for All” that includes the same people and same ideas as Common Core. The UNESCO goals and objectives for education are very similar to the Agenda 21 and Common Core goals and objectives. During the 2008 Presidential campaign Barack Obama committed to making sure that every child has the chance to learn by creating a Global Fund for Education. This would require a new architecture of global cooperation that requires institutions to “combine the efficiency and capacity for action with inclusiveness.” (more…)

Progressive/Socialist Dream = Common Core Standards

The Obama administration has allowed progressive/socialist radicals to draft and implement a new form of public education in America and most of the public has no idea what their vision and motives are. There are currently 45 states and DC that have folded to the bullying tactics of this administration by accepting Common Core as their new method of public education.  Hidden in the stimulus bill of 2009 there was $5 billion dollars set aside to basically bribe states into accepting millions which would allow the federal government to implement Common Core. This was conveniently done during the toughest part of the recession, so the states were in desperate need of money. The biggest problem is that at the time Common Core wasn’t complete, so nobody knew what it would cost, yet the states agreed to it and now have no control over their education system.

What is “Common Core?” It is a totally revamped and federally controlled education system which uses students and parents data to educate (brainwash?) It does this by taking all rights away from tax payers and states with regard to monitoring, questioning or changing how our children are taught in public schools. This new system is designed to completely control, monitor and manage our children’s education and what career paths they can choose. That’s right, the federal government will now only give students 15-17 career choices which they will have to choose by the 9th grade. Common Core will now take all power away from states, tax payers and parents on how their children are taught, what material are being used and what the career path will be offered to their children. The states, parents, congressmen, school boards, governors, mayors, or anybody will have NO ability to change or question how Common Core is implemented or what material is being used to teach our children.

Common core is directly violating three statues which were put into place to stop this type of federal take-over of our educational system or curriculums:

Common Core obviously violates the 10th amendment – “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States, respectively, or to the people.”
